Tech Team Tuesday: Adilakshmi Ganta
Meet: Adilakshmi Ganta
Senior Software Engineer
A: I have been working as a senior software engineer for the past three months. Being relatively new, I am getting to learn various aspects of Blender from both the technology as well as the functional standpoint. There is a lot to learn, but I love the software.
Q: What kind of projects have you been working on? What makes those projects interesting to you?
I am very excited to be a part of the Individual Learner Profiles at Henry County Schools and Learning Re-Engineered at Hamilton County projects so far. The architecture of B lender™ is the most interesting aspect to me, and the new technologies chosen and used to enhance it are fascinating.
Q: How do you contribute to the development process?
A: At this point my role in contributing to the development process is to support other team members as much as possible in implementing features and fixing bugs in the system.
Q: What is your favorite aspect about your work?
A: Working with people who are more experienced, skilled and have greater knowledge encourages me to learn new things every day. This allows me to understand the detailed structure of issues assigned to me and deal with them by considering all of the available options. I’ve only been working here for three months, but already I see how much I have grown as an engineer.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I would like to visit Kerala, India. With its beautiful beaches, pristine rivers and pools, and picturesque and rolling hillsides, it is one of the best places for tourists to visit.
Q: What is your favorite hobby (outside of work)?
A: My favorite hobby is listening to music—it brings me great joy and contentment.
Q: Who is your favorite superhero and why?
A: Maybe he isn’t a typical superhero, but Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, is my superhero. Though he was born in a poor family, with his sheer dedication and hard work, he became one of the premiere scientists in the country, and then went on to lead the country. He is an inspiration to everyone in India.
Q: Tell us about your family:
A: My family consists of my parents and my two siblings. We have been raised in an environment enriched with deep cultural values and principles. My father is a farmer. My mother is a homemaker who supports my father and is also a source of inspiration for all of us in the family. Amongst my siblings, I have an elder brother and a younger sister. We are all very loving and supportive of each other.
Q: Where did you grow up and what makes that place special?
A: I was brought up in a town named Sattenapalli in the State of Andhra Pradesh. I love my hometown. I become nostalgic whenever I am visiting.
Q: What is something that would surprise people to learn about you?
A: People get surprised when they see how quickly I can grasp new ideas and concepts—it is my unique gift.
